WELCOME TO GOOD SHEPHERD ACADEMY

Mr. Jones.jpg

I am Mr. Jim Jones, Principal of Good Shepherd Academy in Kingston. I, along with my amazing faculty and staff, would love to welcome your student to our academy where we believe that every child can grow spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally and physically in a caring Catholic learning environment.  Our academy is family oriented and our exceptional curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular programs offers various opportunities for all of our students to experience. At our academy we encourage parent involvement as we honor the belief that parents are the first teachers of their children. My team and I would be happy to talk with you about partnering with you on the educational journey of your child.
Please call me at 570-718-4724. Guardian Nation is waiting for you.

Good Shepherd Academy is committed to educate students and their families in the Catholic faith.   Founded in 2007 following the consolidation of a few elementary schools, Good Shepherd Academy blends the best traditions and practices of our founding schools to create our own Catholic identity.  We provide a Catholic education that is spiritually sound and academically excellent. We strive to prepare our students to be faith-filled leaders and life-long learners dedicated to serving the Church and society.

BELIEF STATEMENTS

GSA School.jpg
  • Christ is at the heart of all we do, and our students are the inspiration and purpose of our work.

  • Children are God's gift and most valuable asset to family, school, and community.

  • Our Catholic school is part of our faith community which prepares students to proclaim the Good News and promotes the living of Christian values.

  • A cooperative effort between the parents and the school creates a positive learning environment for the child.

  • Education must focus on the whole person's development-spiritual, educational, social, physical, and emotional.

  • Differentiated instruction is needed for some students to experience success in school.

  • Children can flourish in a safe, loving environment.

  • Initiating service projects leads students to a greater understanding and connection between learned knowledge and lifelong practice.

  • Learning to respect others and appreciate diversity will better prepare our students for their role in the global community.
